I fell in love with the Border Collie breed while I was working for a
veterinary hospital as a veterinary technician/receptionist.  There
weren't too many Border Collies that came into the hospital, but the
ones that did stood out above all the other breeds.  Those Border
Collies were the most intelligent dogs I had ever seen, and I've seen
a lot of breeds.   I was hooked, so I set out on a mission to find out
everything I possibly could about this fascinating breed.  The more
I researched, the more I fell in love with them.  Then I set out to
find a knowledgeable and reputable breeder.  After many months
searching, I found RiverRun Border Collies and it just so happened
they had puppies available.  We brought our new puppy home and
what can I say, our household has not seen a dull moment since.  That
was February 2000, when it all started.  We now have 2 wonderful
Border Collies and I cannot say enough great things about them and
how much enjoyment these 2 intelligent, fun, loving, high energy girls
have brought into our lives.  I am also a member of the Kentuckiana
Tartan Border Collie Club.
My daughter, Kayla is a junior handler that entered her first AKC show when she
was 12 years old.  Kayla is the one that does all the handling and most of the
grooming at the shows, I'm just the show mom.  I am very proud of Kayla, she has
won some very large junior classes and has also won Best Junior Handler.  She has
put each and every point on our dogs and that includes 5 major wins between both
dogs.  Kayla now is handling dogs for other people and is doing very well.  She not
only shows AKC conformation but belongs to our local dog 4H group.  There she
participates in agility, obedience and showmanship competitions where she has
done extremely well including Reserve Grand Champion Showman along with many
1st places.  Kayla also belongs to a livestock 4H group where she raises and shows
suffolk market lambs.  In 2001 she won the coveted award of Grand Champion
Lamb.  She also has won many 1st places in showmanship with her lambs.  Kayla
also has 2 horses that she shows in 4H and open horse shows.  She won the
Western Pleasure Reserve Grand Champion award in 2005 and also many 1st
places.  Kayla is a very competitive show person and it shows.  In addition to her
involvement with animals, Kayla earned her black belt in TaeKwonDo and took a
first place at a TaeKwonDo competition which qualified her for the Nationals.
To top it off Kayla sings like an angel.  She takes pride in her accomplishments
and truly shines in and out of that show ring.

Kayla and I strive to raise, train and show Border Collies that can do

have sound correct structure, great temperament and that awesome
high drive and intelligence that only Border Collies have.
